Citybus, one of the three major public bus operators in Hong Kong, launched a pilot program for QR code payments on 9 designated bus routes from January 9, 2021. The designated buses now accept Alipay and UnionPay QuickPass for payments of bus fares. It is expected to support more payment methods that include TNG Wallet, WeChat Pay, Tap&Go, EMV payments for credit cards and prepaid cards, and shall be extended to all bus routes later this year.
Wallyt, the Hong Kong based leader in Fintech solutions, partners with the eWallet operator TNG to provide the all-in-one hardware and software solution for Citybus.
